Urging a secretary to transcribe some interviews sent by numerical files attached to mails (too much work for a single man...). NB : first trying offshore offices. End of the interviews : probably at the end of april (if saturation of course). 03/08/08 : The Tofflers Collecting data using the GT allowed me this week to introduce an original primary document, from the latest book written by Alvin and Heidi Toffler : « Revolutionary Wealth », in fact the 16th chapter of the french edition.
The synchronisation-desynchronisation theme was also introduced in my study via a memo. Three Interviews will take place next week, so the amount of data is slowly growing.
03/05/08 : Resumption ! I had little lack these past two months. Earning money and working my thesis simultaneous is something like resolving a perpetual brain teaser. The work is still going on, with transcription and open coding. Creation of the Hermeneutic Unit with atlas.ti, immersion in open coding, memoing a lot... Having the good fortune to regain an enthusiastic spirit with G.T.The leading path to the core category or/and the Basic Social Process seems easier than expected, as usually in G.T. But the real leading path will be in fact discovered later.Glaser warned us... 12/11/07 : Making a start !
- To work on the assumption that emergence is a leading connecting thread in G.T., the first interview will finally take place earlier, before the meeting with a sociologist, in order to let emergence and required confusion bring to light some crucial missunderstood method points. - Date of the first interview : december 20th, 2007.
11/29/07  - Purchase of a student licence of a QDA-Software :' Atlas.ti 5.0 . Study of the software during the next week. About one hundred hours duration. - Purchase of a numerical voice recorder, of a powerful microphone, research for a reliable e-secretary. - Second or third reading of G.T's key books. About one hundred hours duration. Next step : meeting with a well known G.T. specialist, located in Paris. Then, beginning of the interviews. |
